Building a weekly pattern review habit that sticks
Recognition skill decays without repetition. A short Sunday ritual beats occasional marathon study sessions.
Traders who only study patterns when markets are quiet lose sharpness when volatility returns. We recommend a fixed weekly block: forty-five minutes, same day, same checklist.
Checklist outline: three charts from your watchlist, one chart from a market you do not trade, and one historical example from your failure folder. Mark patterns, write invalidations, and stop. Do not turn the review into a new trade plan unless a setup is already live.
Keep a failure folder. Screenshots of patterns you misread are more valuable than a gallery of winners. Label what you saw at the time, not what you know now.
If you attend our Pattern Clinic, use the Sunday review to prepare questions rather than to reinvent the syllabus. Bring one disagreement with the posted shortlist — productive dissent sharpens everyone at the table.
